WotLK Guides - Trial of the Crusader - Strategy Guides

PoorBest

Another event released in Trial of the Crusader (ToC) this week, and it’s an awesome fight. We are currently putting the guide together for this one but for those of you who have yet to set foot inside the Trial of the Champion 10 man in the Crusaders Coliseum this one will test your team far more than the previous two events.

Think multiple mobs, think trash pulls but with mini bosses that pump out lots of heals and high dps. Think the return of Crowd Control (thank god I was starting to wonder if we would ever need to use it again!), think tactics, innovation and on the fly changes to strategy if something doesn’t go according to plan.

This in my opinion is the best event released so far as it encourages you to use all the tools at your disposal and really puts some of the excitement back by giving each player more responsibility to think on their feet should the situation become sticky, this will highlight those who know their class properly and those who just follow the crowd and repeat the same steps all the time.

You will face 6 mobs in the 10 man version but 10 in the 25 man version. This fight is considered PvP so the durations of spells and abilities for PvP rules apply

Your basically going to have two main tactics to choose from with a bit of variation depending on your team composition.

The use of crowd control here is absolutely necessary and your healers are going to be working hard so any damage mitigation or self healing abilities will be a bonus, think healthstones and potions to try and lighten the load. Some people try and CC the healers and burn the dps but personally I think this a mental idea, if the CC breaks or is applied to the point that it is no longer effective (due to the PvP diminishing returnsl) then your in for a long fight that generally will only end in one outcome.

I recommend CC’ing all but one healer and then burning them down one by one while using any remaining crowd control on the dps to reduce the amount of raid damage done. This fight plays out very similarly to the Magisters Terrace fight and can be very hectic, probably one of my favourite events in the whole game, with some fantastic rewards.

Rewards

Lootrank Coliseum 10 man reward list.
(I advise you then filter this by class!) Give it a try and tell us how you get on, feedback is appreciate so we can refine our guides further and help the WoW community.
