Festergut Strategy and Tactics: Assignments
Off Tank: Festergut
Melee DPS: Festergut
Ranged DPS: Festergut
Healers: 1 on tank, 1 on Raid/Tank and 1 on Raid. Burst healing on the tank during Festerguts inhales.
Festergut Tactics - Successful Kill Strategy
Using the shape of the room have your ranged DPS and Healers spread out around the front half of the room where you come in, ensuring that everyone is at least 8 yards away from each other. Use a proximity or range window that comes with Deadly Boss Mods (/range 8) or Deus Vox to make sure you can judge this well.
Your first tank will tank Festergut all the way to 9 stacks of Gastric Bloat, this should mean that your tanks switch just before the third inhale and when Festergut is hitting his hardest. It means you dont have a tank with too many stacks of Gastric Blight tanking the boss when he is hitting his hardest.
BRING 3 HEALERS: Have 1 healer on raid and 2 on tanks, during the third inhale when the tank is tanking the most damage and the raid is taking small amounts of damage your healers are going to have to spam the tank and your raid healer is going to have to help on topups.
You should have one of your healers standing inside the room directly in front of the entrance marked with a raid icon, keep them in the same location and tell your raid that the person who is furthest away from the tank/melee/boss in the middle of the room that gets a spore will fold onto this healer/location (Think Akil'zon in ZA!). The person who gets the spore closest to the tanks will run to the middle to let it explode on the melee and the tanks.
ALL RAID MEMBERS MUST HAVE 3 STACKS OF INNOCULATED BEFORE THE BOSS DOES HIS MENTAL PUNGENT BLIGHT ABILITY, GET PAST THIS PHASE WITH THE BOSS AT UNDER 50% AND YOU HAVE IT IN THE BAG.
Once you are past the Pungent Blight ability it's then a massive DPS race. You need as much damage as you can as quickly as possible. It's at this point that it's best to use Bloodlust as the tank who is no longer tanking will be doing increased DPS due to Gastric Bloat stacks as well. We recommend using a Druid Tank to start and having them go Kitty after the Pungent Blight. Once the first tanks stacks of Gastric Bloat have worn off have them pick up the boss again and let the other tank DPS. YOU MUST KILL THE BOSS BEFORE EITHER TANK GETS 10 STACKS OF GASTRIC BLOAT OR BOOM!!
HEALERS!! - You WILL have to spam on the first tank at around 2-3 Inhales also make sure that your tanks tell you when they are swapping at 9 stacks because the damage on the new tank is high and will need healing immediately. Failure to tank swap properly and the healers to jump onto the new healing target WILL result in a wipe.
FESTERGUT STRATEGY AND TACTICS: TIPS
2. Tanks MUST swap at around 9 stacks of Gastric Blight
2. Healers be prepared for increased burst healing on the MT during Inhale 2.
3. You must fold on people when they have GAS SPORES, let them explode then run back out again
4. Get people to shout when they have the GAS SPORES set a location/person for them to fold onto and ensure one person goes to the tanks!
