WoW Guide - Deathbringer Strategy and Tactics

Deathbringer Saurfang Overview

Considered one of the deadliest Deathknights to face Deathbringer Saurfang relies on Blood Power to increase his damage and size, letting it stack up to high levels is a recipe for disaster as he will soon be hitting hard enough to one shot your tank. The faster you kill this guy the better, the longer the fight goes on the bigger he gets. Each attack that lands from either him or his adds will increase his Blood Power so high avoidance is good for this fight.

Tactics - Deathbringer Saurfang Strategy

Main Tank: Deathbringer Saurfang
Off Tank: Deathbringer Saurfang
Melee DPS: Deathbringer Saurfang
Ranged DPS: Adds, Deathbringer Saurfang
Healers: 1 on tanks and 1 on raid, raid healer needs to be aware of Mark of the Fallen Champion and Boiling Bood specifically.

Everything you do here is designed to reduce Blood Power generation and increase raid DPS to end this fight swiftly.

Spread out, this helps to avoid Blood Nova hitting multiple players and generating lots of Blood Power, everyone should be running Deadly Boss Mods, this will open the range/proximity window and tell you if your too close to someone else. If it doesnt auto open just use the /range command. 12 YARDS is your distance.

When Blood Beasts spawn your ranged DPS should nuke them asap, they should be slowed by a mage, rooted by a druid, earthbind totem works and also frost trap. Whatever you can do to slow them down, do it but make sure these Blood Beasts dont hit your raid members and get nuked down FAST.

The person who gets Boiling Blood needs to make sure they are in range of the designated healer it'll take around 6 seconds for your average non tank to die.

It's recommended to pop Bloodlust early if you have one available, and by that I mean, right at the start when you have all your DPS on Deathbringer Saurfang.

Save your tank and healing cooldowns for times when Deathbringer Saurfang has Frenzy although he doesnt hit that hard but will do a mental amount of damage if this happens with too many marks of the fallen champion up.

TIPS for Deathbringer Saurfang

Use Crowd Control, dont let the bloodbeasts hit anyone, it's vitally important that he doesnt get extra blood power.

Mages can use amplify magic as all damage done during this encounter is physical. Mages with Spell Slow not found. make a massive difference. Hunters with frost traps and Druids can use roots.

DONT JUST STAND THERE! Honestly i've seen it far too often where a DPS gets cocky and think they can nuke before the Blood Beast reaches them then they get knocked to hell and back giving Saurfang extra Blood Power and screwing the raid in the process. Kite, whatever happens. Do NOT get hit and get these buggers down fast.
