Boss: Omnitron Defence System

Location: Blackwing Decent

Progression Requirement: Optional, either here or Magmaw to start the raid.

Difficulty Level: Medium, personally I think this seems easier than Magmaw

Encounter Focus: Target switching, Positional Awareness, AoE and Adds.

Guide Status: BETA, this guide is still being refined. Please check for updates regularly.

Omnitron Defence System Abilities

Arcanotron Abilities:

Power Generator: An AOE on the floor (looks like a small vortex) that actually buffs your damage and mana regen.

Arcane Annihilator: Powerful attack. Interruptable.

Power Conversion (when about to die): A buff on Arcanotron that increases the damage whenever he's being hit.

Electron Abilities:

Lightning Conductor: Debuff on a random player that does AOE to everyone near that player.

Electrical Discharge: DoT that jumps between close raid members.

Unstable shield (when about to die): A shield that will generate high damage AOE raid wide when struck in combat.

Magmatron Abilities:

Incineration Security Measure: Huge line shaped AOE's all over the room, centering on Magmatron.

Aquiring Target: Magmatron will mark a player and then shoot a massive damage AOE to his feet.

Barrier (when about to die): A shield that absorbs damage until it explodes for massive raid wide damage.

Toxitron Abilities:

Poison Cloud: And AOE that greatly increases damage taken (about 50%).

Slime adds: 3 slimes that will slowly chase players, exploding on impact and leaving poison AOE on the floor.

Poison Shell (when about to die): A shield that puts a stackable debuff on attacker, that both does damage AND adds a nature damage to the attacks you deal (that part is actually a buff to you)

Omnitron Defence System Raid Setup

As with any new raid if its your first time inside start with more healers and gradually work down to what you need.

Raid Setup (10 man):

2 Tanks
2-3 Healers
5-6 DPS

Raid Setup (25 man):

2 Tanks
7 Healers
16 DPS

Omnitron Defence System Tactics

The Omnitron Defence System Encounter in Blackwing Decent is designed with target switching in mind. There are 4 mechanical bosses, which will activate in a random order and have different abilities. You will fight them one after another until you have defeated them all. When one is about to die it will active it's dying ability at which point you'll need to react accordingly, out the way and stopping all attacks on the target, by this time the next boss is already active so you should have switched targets anyway. You wont know the order of the fight so you better be sure your raid knows the tactics for each one. They key to success is switching fast and being fluid on your change in tactics.

Arcanotron Tactics

Tank him away from the power generator AoE that's on the floor, just to one side, get your raiders to stand on the power generator and get the buff to your damage and mana regen.

You must interrupt his Arcane Annihilator otherwise it can cause massive damage to your tank.

Just before he is about to die your offtank should already be able to see which boss is activating next, have them stand ready for the pickup.

When Arcanotron activates his dying ability your entire raid team needs to immediately move out the way and switch to the new target.

Magmatron Tactics

Dont stand in the fire when he starts using the AoE ability Incineration Security Measure.

If you get marked with Acquiring Target you will need to run away from the raid and make sure that your not putting them between you and the boss. The AoE will travel directly towards you so you need to make sure your team mates will not get caught in it.

Just before he is about to die your offtank should already be able to see which boss is activating next, have them stand ready for the pickup.

When Magmatron activates his dying ability your entire raid team needs to immediately move out the way and switch to the new target.

Toxitron Tactics

Toxitron will drop a poison cloud debuff on the floor, ensure that nobody stands in this, you can actually use it to your advantage by having Toxitron tanked inside his own AoE and therefore receiving his own debuff.

When targeted by slime adds the adds will need to be kited and NUKED ASAP by your ranged dps, this is the most important part of the Toxitron tactics and a lot of raids fail to switch properly. If the adds catch the player they will explode for AoE damage to any nearby team member. The adds CANNOT be taunted or tanked. Kiting is the way forwards. As of yet im not sure if they are immune to slows and snares but I will get that tested and report back.

Electron Tactics

Electron will target a player and hit them with a debuff called Lightning Conductor, it does exactly what it says on the tin. If you have it, move away from the raid otherwise you will be doing constant AoE damage to your team.

At this point your raid team needs to spread out so that you dont have the DoT called Electrical Discharge jumping between each member, this will also help your positioning for this boss in general.

Just before he is about to die your offtank should already be able to see which boss is activating next, have them stand ready for the pickup.

When Toxitron activates his dying ability your entire raid team needs to immediately move out the way and switch to the new target.

ALL DEAD!

Once all 4 are dead give youself a big cheer and distribute the loot.
