Cata Guides - Baradin Hold Strategy Guides

Boss: Pit Lord Argaloth
Progression Requirement: No. First boss in Baradin Hold (ond only one at the time of writing).
Difficulty Level: Easy.
Encounter Focus: Positioning, movement orientated, situational awareness, enrage timer.
Guide Status: UPDATED 04/02/2011
Pit Lord Argaloth Abilities
Meteor Slash - Deals 200,000 Fire damage (10 player) or 500,000 Fire Damage (25 player) directed toward a caster. The more people around to soak the damage in a 65 yard radius the less damage for everyone. It is also why you see the healers/range dps stacked on each other in this video.
Consuming Darkness - Inflicts 2,925 to 3,075 Shadow damage and additional Shadow damage every 0.5 sec for 15 sec. This person will need to be overhealed for 15 seconds or they will die very quickly. This should be dispelled, its easier on the healers and their mana.
Fel Firestorm - Argaloth uses this when his health is at 66% and 33%. Argaloth shoots fel fireballs into the air which will fall down and leave a patch of flame on the ground. These patches deal 8,287 - 8,712 Fire damage as long as you are standing in them, they will appear directly under players feet. So you MUST be constantly moving to avoid this. RUN TO THE BACK WALL AND BACK AGAIN, BY THAT TIME IT SHOULD HAVE FINISHED.
Pit Lord Argaloth Raid Setup
- 2 Tanks
- 2 Healers
- 6 DPS (9-10k Minimum, dont bring scrubs or you will hit the enrage timer)
- 2 Tanks
- 4-5 Healers
- 18-19 DPS (9-10k Minimum, dont bring scrubs or you will hit the enrage timer)
Pit Lord Argaloth Tactics and Strategy
1. Split your raid into 2 teams making distributing the tanks, healers and dps as evenly as you can.
2. Teams hug their assigned tank, that means everyone, even the people who think it doesnt apply to them. (recent experience again!)
3. Have 1 group stand on his left side, and 1 on his right side.
4. After Meteor Slash the other tank needs to taunt the boss immediately and the healers will need to heal the new tank while getting the previous group back up to full health.
5. Dispel consuming darkness.
6. At 66% and 33% health he will do Fel Firestorm, this is basically a ground based AoE that targets where a player is standing and will last for a few seconds while he casts. If your not changing position during the duration of this you will get hit and you will die. I usually run up to the end of the room and back again, by that time its just finished, works perfectly everytime.
7. Rinse, repeat, loot and cheer.
Watch out for the enrage timer, all your DPS need to be pulling their weight. If doing this in 10 man II recommend only using 2 healers for the extra DPS dont try and go for a third, if you need a third you need better healers to begin with.
Good luck out there,
Cybac.

You mentioned video. Where is it? I don't see a link to a video. Would like to see it since you mention there is one.
