Hi folks,

Well the site is live, i've bought the domain, setup the hosting, installed my favourite content management system, decided on a structure and made the site active. What do i need to do now?

Start writing :) Yay!

First up are introductions, my name is Cybac (or at least my game name is ofc!) and I play a Druid in World of Warcraft in which i play all specs but focus more on Moonkin and Restoration. I'm also one of four officers in our little guild, we are a small bunch of friends, family and players that enjoy each others company and like to raid. We are not hardcore and we are not going to win any prizes, but nor are we crap and a set of complete noobs. If we all had the time to dedicate towards raiding then i'm sure we could do extremely well, but the fact is we are all older (we dont really like younger members in the guild due to guild chat content and immature attitudes) so we have jobs, families and various other things happening in real life.

This means that our team changes a bit from week to week, we have more members than slots in our 10 man raiding team, but we dont have enough for 25's and tbh that's not really how we like to run, we much prefer the intimiacy of a 10 man group where we can have a laugh and still play the game.

I am the main Raid Leader, i run two raids per week, Thursdays and Sundays, they start at 20:45 server time and finish at about 01:00 server time, but a lot of us run on GMT so thats 20:45 - 00:00. I've been playing for around 4 years and i've been Raid Leading for about 3 of them. I have run 10 man and 25 man raids on many successful occasions but i've also run a few fails in my time as well, it goes with the job!

We are a new guild, only been going less than 2 months, a lot of us have been in the same guilds before, one in particular which disbanded and found ourselves unable to settle elsewhere so got back together again to form Sect of Obsidian on The Venture Co, EU.

I work as part of the team over at http://www.crusaderscoliseum.com helping to write articles and guides so some of the content from here will be shared over there and vice versus.

When iim not involved with WoW i'm doing the family thing, I have a beautiful daughter who (at time of writing this) is 19 months old and has found her feet so is basically trying to get her hands into anything she shouldnt! I have a fantastic fiance who is also a WoW player, although not quite as fanatic as me she's still active and loves to raid when possible.

Well that's about as much as i need to put for a general introduction and overview, most of it is pretty mundane and i wouldnt be surprised if you dont even get this far but I promise to make future posts more relevant to the game!

I've decided to put down thoughts, ideas and resources for Raid Leading into this website, mostly for my own development as a Raid Leader (there are many skills that you will use as a Raid Leader but more about that later) and in the hope that it might help or be of interest to someone out there somewhere!

So what can you expect to see here? Well a bit of everything, i'm going to include links and discussions on some online resources, some must have addons for Raid Leaders and a blog of thoughts and ideas as well as reports on how the raiding is going in our new guild.

Have fun, and enjoy,

Cybac.
