The Weekly Gaming Grind:  Where I get to bitch about all the things that kill me.
Okay, this weeks been a bit low on the Gaming front, I suppose the thing i have been doing this week, well, i have moved into Dragonblight in Northrend.  WoW, I really like this zone, it's nice and snowy, and the atmosphere is dark and quite intense, you can get the feeling that you are about to be attacked, and you generally do get attacked.  This area is quite mob intensive, once you seem to  destroy one mob, then walk right into 2 more, even if you don't see them...

Other than that, i have been playing Utgarde Keep alot, trying to get the tactics right on the bosses, I'll go into that later on.  Oh, and questing seems to be totally obselete in WoW, once you get past level 70, everything takes ages...the only reson I quest now, is to wait while I get into a PuG Dungeon.  The story immersion in Northrend questing is quite intense, you really feel like you are contributing to the Horde victory in Northrend, unlike questing in Azeroth, which felt detached and boring.

Other than that, the reason I have been slow on WoW this week- (I have to make the text bigger here)        STARCRAFT 2        Omg, I have to try and stop myself waxing lyrical about this game.  At first, I couldn't see what the big fuss was about, then i started playing Online, and It kicks arse. I have been playing 2vs2 with a WoW guildmate over battlenet Real ID, (okay we both are scrubs, and both sucked)  but there are so many goddamn tactics in this game, and you have to be so damn fast, it's crazy... enough about starcraft 2, back to WoW

Utgarde Keep Tactics and Tips 'n' Tricks.
Okay, im not going to worry about Trash pulls, I'll grant you guys that bit of Ego Boost.  I am going to help you guys with the Boss Encounters.  I'll say that by the time you get to level 73, you shouldn't even be doing UK.  as much as I don't like this Dungeon, I have to Talk about it, I am doing a different instance every week, and documenting my experiences and tactics for you guys.  SO-lets get started.

Prince Keleseth
Okay, this one is a fairly Generic boss fight, with a few unusual tactics that players new to Northrend might find out of place.
stats:

192,200 HP
Raises 5 undead skeletons with 2,500 HP. They will cast Decrepify (Reduce strength by 100 and movement speed by 30%) on their target.
Casts Frost Tomb. Immobilizes the target for 20 seconds and causes 400 damage per second (increasing to approximately 2000 damage per second in heroic mode).
clones:  (wowwiki doesn't seem to acknowledge this)  Summons 4 clones of himself, that fire shadow bolts at random members of the party.  They have around 20,000 health and can be aggro'ed.

Tactics for this boss: This is a fairly simple boss fight.  The tank rushes in, pulls aggro, melee and ranged dps go in, and start spamming damage, the healer stays back and does his job.  When he summons his skeletons, the tank comes off of Keleseth.  and aggro'es the skeletons, and the dps AoE the skeletons down, and the tank goes straight back to Keleseth.  If he uses frost tomb, just dps out of it.  If he clones, the mnajority of party's will target the clones, but the tactic that should be used, if one the melee DpS should (unless it's a rogue) should stick to the original Keleseth, and spam the hell out of him. The clones will die once he is dead.

Dalronn the Controller and Skarvald the Constructor.
the easiest way to deal this this pair is to focus on Skarvald until he has around 10% of his health, and then kill Dalronn, the quickly kill Skarvald.  The reason for this is when one of them dies, they come back as spirits.  These spirits can't be aggro'ed, damaged, cc 'ed or anything, but they still hit hard.  they also sometimes attack the healer, and because they can't be aggroed they can wipe the party.

Ingvar the Plunderer.

Stats: 120,015 HP (phase 1); 120,015 HP (phase 2)

This guy has got quite a lot of abilities, so i'm not going to detail them all.

This boss is quite a simple, if you are paying attention.  and yes, i have died on this one...twice... both times to the same attack.  This particular ability is called smash/dark smash.  (Depending on what phase you are on.  He picks a random person in the party, faces them, and jumps up into the air and smashes back down.  this deals around  13125–16875 physical damage to all enemies within a 10 yard cone in front of the caster.  This can kill ME in one shot.  I have around 10,500 health, and i'm a blood spec DK.  (with a hench axe, i might add.) you can avoid this ability simply by stepping to the right or left as he uses the ability.  to kill him simply smash him until he dies, the only thing i will warn about is that when he ressurects, get away from him, because when he comes back, he will try and attack the nearest character.  let the tank pull aggro first, then kill him, just make sure you watch out for that dark smash ability, which will hit a little harder when he gets resurrected.

Questions and hopefully Answers.

I only have one question from last week. courtesy of the wow forum.  This wasn't very nice, and it occured when i advertised the blog on the forums... the dude gave me a link to the "pilgrimage" entry on online dictionary, and then said (in essence) wtf.
so, in reply to that one person- (big letters again, and yes, i am going to name him... Sanzaga, or scarshield legion.  yes, the spelling was a bit off, and yes, i know what pilgrimage means...THANK YOU!!!
Okay now i have had my little rant and answered that question.  that's me done for the day.  thank you very much for sticking with this blog, once again.  lets see if i can get more questions for next weeks blog.  you guys know where to find me, but if you forgot, lets refresh your memory.  simply click my name on the blog post, and PM me your question.
